I am a Cybersecurity Manager and an Innovation Consultant with a background in Information Security, Project Management,  Startup Mindset, and Applied Innovation Methodologies (AIM). I have extensive experience in Department of Defense and Federal programs, systems and technologies spanning from system troubleshooting, to network design, engineering and management, to all facets of Information Assurance (IA), cybersecurity management, and related services. I have a lot of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to the realm of IA and Cybersecurity, and I feel this passion has direct positive effects on my interactions with my team and our clients.  I also have experience running an internal startup from the inside of a large business, as well as contributing to growing a culture of innovation organization wide.

I’ve been interested in technology and security since I was young, but I got my official start in the cybersecurity realm when I enlisted in the Army as an Information Technology Specialist – 25B (formerly 74B). After spending 11 months deployed to Iraq operating as a network engineer, admin, and all around make it work specialist, working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, you learn a thing or two about network operations and the importance of information security.

My certifications include: CISM, CISSP, CEH, and PMP. I have a BS in IT/Infosec, and a MS in Information Systems. I am working on my PhD in IT with a specialization in cybersecurity innovation. My dissertation’s focus is on improving/creating continuous security monitoring aggregate risk tracking systems. Currently I am most excited at having been selected to present a breakout session on continuous monitoring as an integrated component of security management at the ISC National Security Congress.

I’m always looking to help current and potential clients with their biggest challenges. If interested in discussing cybersecurity consulting further with me, please reach out to me through Linkedin or email (in the side bar on the right).
